The most popular tablet, currently, is the iPad, of course.

The iPad holds a 9.7 inch display with a bezel for holding, but many critics of the iPad say that it's aspect ratio is terrible for viewing videos and movies on the goregeous display.

Recently announced tablets such as those from ViewSonic, BlackBerry and HP sport a widescreen display, which is great for movie playback.

The problem is that people arent sure themselves about what they will do with their tablet device. Will said person always only watch movies, or will said person be browsing the internet or creating documents?

I side with Apple on the display size argument, only because the 16:9 aspect ratio does not feel right in the hands, and its bad for everyday tasks on a tablet such as typing, surfing the web and playing games.unintentional critichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02720599779763378513noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6300752038951658974.post-319601850856901242010-11-11T22:16:00.000-05:002010-11-11T22:16:39.082-05:00GOOG-411's Last Day

Today marks the end of an era - one where we can call up Google and ask for just about anything.

When I first heard about GOOG-411, I just had to try it. What surprised me was that it actually worked! Everything was done through computers - no human interaction. It was simply revolutionary for people who did currently own smart phones with internet access.

I guess Google has decided that it's android platform and mobile search engine has grown so much that it was time to phase out GOOG-411.

I will always admire Google's direction in innovation, but this is not my decision to make.

RIP GOOG-411 !unintentional critichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02720599779763378513noreply@blogger.com58tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6300752038951658974.post-70542148953467373932010-11-10T21:31:00.000-05:002010-11-10T21:31:39.218-05:00Sprint announces the ZTE Peel

Do you have an iPod touch?
Do you want an iPhone but cannot afford one?

This might be as close as you can get to an iPhone on a carrier outside of AT&T in the United States.

Today, Sprint announced the ZTE Peel, a case with a built in cellular WiFi broadcasting device.
The ZTE Peel allows for:
- 3G internet access to your docked iPod touch
- WiFi access to two other devices
- WiFi compatibility with 802.11 b/g
- WEP 64 Bit security settings available
- Hand-free activation
- 900 mAH battery - up to 3 hours of continuous use

This is a very controvertial product, as this allows for people to consider not purchasing the iPhone models to go for this more affordable option.

I don't see this as practical in the "real world" and would probably laugh at anyone I see using one of these because it's SO BIG in your hand...

What do you guys think?

iPhone, or ZTE Peel + iPod?unintentional critichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02720599779763378513noreply@blogger.com32tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6300752038951658974.post-9288857234875280702010-11-10T11:57:00.001-05:002010-11-10T15:48:09.330-05:00Is Windows Phone 7 REALLY going to change your life?Express your opinions by taking the poll to the right of this post :)

I recently saw this advertisement on TV for the new Windows Phone devices. It claims to "get you back to life" by keeping you from constantly looking at your phone. I don't think that this correctly describes how WP7 can help anyone achieve this.

Yes, the phone has tiles that display the number of messages and emails you have in your inboxes that are unread, but it does not quickly tell you who sent the message or reveal any of the content. Microsoft is implying that all WP7 users only want to know how many people are trying to contact them at a certain point in time, but not what they want to say. Microsoft made a bad move here by pushing the point that their new mobile operating system is intended to demote the information passed on by your friends, family or business partners.

If someone were to ask me how WP7 and iOS were different, I frankly couldn't. Apple's mobile operating system (currently iOS 4.1) has notifications as well, with the number of unread messages displayed in a red circle on the top right corner of the application button.

Let's see how this plays out for Microsoft. My bet's that it will fail - terribly.unintentional critichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02720599779763378513noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6300752038951658974.post-53808164460738074642010-11-09T16:04:00.000-05:002010-11-10T12:08:41.716-05:00Easter Egg Found in Call of Duty: Black Ops Already!

Today is the official release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops. This is a very highly anticipated game and many players have already discovered the side "adventure like" game that could be accessed through the main menu. From reading many articles online, it seems as if players really like this easter egg and that this addition by Activision has done its part and has brought more value to the game.

Check out the video above for instructions on how to access this goodie!unintentional critichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02720599779763378513noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6300752038951658974.post-10066246656164178312010-11-09T09:43:00.000-05:002010-11-09T09:43:23.154-05:00Scared of Needles? Fear No More!A small start up medical company in Colorado developed a device called the PharmaJet, which does not use needles to inject medication or vaccines into the patient's body.
Though the device does not use needles, there still will be a minor pinch at the time of injection.

PharmaJet was approved by the FDA in 2009 and is now currently in use in about 10 clinic. Statistics show that over 30% of patients prefer or have tried the PharmaJet system over the traditional needle.
