Sprint announces the ZTE Peel
Do you have an iPod touch?
Do you want an iPhone but cannot afford one?
This might be as close as you can get to an iPhone on a carrier outside of AT&T in the United States.
Today, Sprint announced the ZTE Peel, a case with a built in cellular WiFi broadcasting device.
The ZTE Peel allows for:
- 3G internet access to your docked iPod touch
- WiFi access to two other devices
- WiFi compatibility with 802.11 b/g
- WEP 64 Bit security settings available
- Hand-free activation
- 900 mAH battery - up to 3 hours of continuous use
This is a very controvertial product, as this allows for people to consider not purchasing the iPhone models to go for this more affordable option.
I don't see this as practical in the "real world" and would probably laugh at anyone I see using one of these because it's SO BIG in your hand...
What do you guys think?
iPhone, or ZTE Peel + iPod?

That phone looks pretty sick...if I had Sprint, I'd probably get one.
ReplyDeleteStill doesn't have an actual /phone/, so it's just a touch in my eyes. A real man learns how to crack wep and wpa, and use his ipod touch on the go.
ReplyDeleteI think the Android phones are the next big thing, kicking apple out of the competition, very nice post :)
